VESPA GTS 125
The launch of a 125cc version makes the style and speed icon called the Vespa GTS accessible to a much larger number of riders. 16-year-olds with an A1 licence or 18-year-olds with a car licence can now ride the GTS in some European countries. Styling
The Vespa is synonymous with the scooter and a unique lifestyle: everyday style and sheer riding pleasure with a host of clever, practical technical features. Like its predecessor the GTS 250, the Vespa GTS 125cc is a tourer that blends speed and style.
The Vespa GTS 125 is instantly recognisable: its chrome mudguard trim and position light placed midway down the front shield are an evocative reminder of 1950s Vespas.
The sculpted cowls, bulbous round headlamp and folding aluminium pillion foot pegs are all features that emphasise the unique styling of the Vespa GTS 125.
Like every other Vespa, the GTS has the trademark monocoque sheet metal chassis that gives the Vespa its legendary strength, reliability and rigidity to contribute to remarkable steering precision.
Engine
It was in 1948 that the first Vespa to use a 125cc engine was produced and famously featured in the cult film Roman Holiday. Since then, people have inevitably associated the Vespa with the scenes of Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn riding the scooter through the streets of Rome. Now, 58 years on, a modern 125cc engine equips a Vespa with a rounded outline and sleek, dynamic shape. The engine, a 4 stroke, 4 valve, liquid cooled Leader 125cc, delivers a 14.3 hp power output to take the Vespa GTS 125 to a top speed of over 100 km/h, providing sufficient reserve power to encourage lively, free-spirited town riding. The new version of the 125cc makes it possible to use the Vespa GTS at 16 with an A1 licence or at 18 with a car licence in some European countries. The braking system, which also equips the Vespa GTS, ensures a safe ride and gives the rider total control of the vehicle thanks to the excellent stopping power of the two 220 mm disks.
The Vespa GTS 125 is a concentrate of style and personality. Safe and reliable to use, it is perfectly suited to responsible riders, as the engine is fully compatible with the stringent Euro 3 emissions standards.
